Site Key:
Applied Gifted Ed provides introductory and topic-specific information about gifted education issues in Pennsylvania, including educational regulations, gifted education theory, and gifted education practice at the point where those three topics meet, during the child's Gifted IEP meeting.  Topics are first presented generally, and then  discussed in greater depth.
Main Page:
The main page lets  visitors rate their own satisfaction with and knowledge of gifted education.

Topics which are of general interest to 'new-to-gifted-ed' visitors are also shown.
Rate Yourself: Choosing a box on the 'Rate Yourself' matrix takes you to a page which presents information specific to the needs of that group.
Topic Pages:
Individual Topics are addressed on 'Topic Pages'  These pages contain high level summaries along with links to source materials.

Projects:
There are two projects for which data is being collected.  Please participate:

Project 501 asks parents for their real-world observations about their district's gifted education offerings.

The GIEP Accommodations Project asks GIEP team members for examples of individualization  used in GIEPs and the results of that accommodation.

There are hundreds of web sites that relate to the general topic of 'giftedness'.   The sheer number can overwhelm or confuse

The sites in this section are useful starting points for  people  'new to gifted ed' - specifically those people involved in creating or approving GIEPs.

Other sites are linked within specific topics pages.
