I am a parent of two identified gifted children in public school and a full-time special education advocate focused on, primarily,
gifted education issues.
I work full time as a special education advocate. I assist parents in preparing for GIEP
Meetings and attend meetings, either by teleconference or in-person as a special education advocate. I also help parents
prepare for and attend Mediation Hearings.
I also conduct district/IU trainings for teachers and administrators on gifted educational
issues ranging from Overviews to specific issues relating to a need.
This website is designed to help GIEP Team
members-- parents, teachers, administrators-- be more effective in fulfililng their roles while planning a gifted child's education.
Gifted
education is common-sense. Gifted education advocacy is the persistent application of common-sense. I hope you find this
site helpful.
More importantly, I hope you find this site useful.
